Growing up in Kitchener, Ontario, Ronnie (they/she) spent countless hours at their local library reading, learning about animals, and exploring nearby parks in search of adventure and magical creatures. They now get to professionally geek out about animals as an Environmental Educator and Children's Book Illustrator, and hope to spread their love of nature and silly things through their artwork and stationery.

Find their work on the Bracebridge Storybook Trail and in Chickadee Magazine, the Animal of the Month series from Sept 2025-Jan 2026!

About their art: Ronnie loves experimenting with their art and loves using watercolour, gouache and pencil crayon with a dash of digital finesse. They love brushy textures, crunchy linework, paint splatter, and warm colour palettes, often describing their work like dew in the warm sun after a stormy day. Education & fun are important to Ronnie - so they always make sure to highlight local biodiversity in a humorous way.

Ronnie is currently unagented, but is looking for an agent for their Children's Book work. 

In her free time, Ronnie loves rock climbing, birdwatching, and junk journaling!

Fun Facts About Ronnie

★ While my goal is to one day become an established children's book illustrator and sell my very own books, I also love making cute artwork and stationery for fellow nature lovers to enjoy. 

★ Words that inspire my illustrations - educational, inspirational and funny - with a touch of mother nature. I aim to portray a diversity of people & cultures while also showing the wonders and curiosities of nature!

★ I love the sound of a pencil crayon drawing on a layer of dry gouache paint. So yummy!

★ “Szo” is pronounced like the word “Show”
